We are so excited to announce our annual Chili Cook-Off!
This is a delicious opportunity to have some fun, eat some scrumptious chili, and support our school. And the best part is that YOU can enter YOUR best chili recipe! We have an adult and youth division. Our youth have the opportunity to compete with friends!
Our chili chefs will be judged by a panel of local chefs and community members, and, of course, our tasters will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite.
We will have prizes donated by our generous community for 3 different categories: Youth Champion, Adult Champion, and People’s Choice!
AND, new this year, we’ll also have a dessert silent auction!
All in all, it’s a LOT of fun for tasters and chefs.

That’s why, on this Giving Tuesday, we are asking you to consider donating to our school. Your donation goes directly towards supporting learning opportunities that make a difference.
While we do receive some state funding, these private donations are critical. They are what allow us to make such a difference for so many kids.
YOU can be part of that difference.
Please consider donating to REACH today. If you are unable to, please consider sharing this information so other parents can first and foremost know that other education opportunities exist for their children, but also that our community can make a difference:

Education is such a critical part of our society. It forms tomorrow’s thinkers, movers, and shakers. What we do in the classroom and in the home today changes the world tomorrow.
So to all our educators, learning coaches, and support staff, thank you!
And to our families, if you are celebrating American Education Week by spreading the word about how YOU are taking control of your child’s education, make sure to tag us!

You are doing a great job!
It is not easy to be a Learning Coach. It is not easy to be actively changing your child’s education path. It is not easy to go against the status quo. But you are doing it and you are doing amazing.
Way to go, REACH parents! Your kids are benefitting from all your hard work!

In the spirit of November, this week’s fact is about Thanksgiving. Did you know we have the author of “Mary Had a Little Lamb” to thank for Thanksgiving as a holiday?
That’s right Sarah Josepha Hale, who wrote the beloved song, wrote letters from 1846 to 1863 in an attempt to convince politicians to make Thanksgiving a holiday. That’s 17 years!
In 1863, Abraham Lincoln answered her pleas and formally established Thanksgiving as a national holiday. In the middle of the Civil War, Lincoln often cites Hale’s letters has a big influence in his decision to name the holiday.
While Mary had a little lamb, Sarah had a passion for turkey day!

Real world education involves just that: getting out into the real world. By taking the time to get our students (and staff!) out in nature, we not only have fun, but we encourage social bonds, get physically active, engage with our community, and get some much-needed vitamin D. That’s why we make sure to get out all together–staff and students–at least a few times a year for these community field trips.
And, hey, who doesn’t love a pumpkin patch?

This past Saturday, August 9th, our amazing students shined bright at Lemonade Day! 🌟 From creative stand designs to delicious flavors like Wild Blueberry & Dragon Fruit, they brought energy, smiles, and refreshing drinks to our community.
We are so proud of their hard work, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication — plus, some even donated proceeds to local causes! 💛
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support these young business owners. 🥤✨
